Sasha, We try to recycle as much as we can, and we refuse plastic bags (we carry авоски (??)). We still generate garbage, and although we DO eat most of the food we buy, we do not have a compost heap. Even if we did, putting food into the pile would guarantee that we attracted mice and rats... WE STILL GENERATE much more GARBAGE than is 'essential' to the services and products we use.

I really go nuts (internally) when I travel someplace that makes no attempt to recycle aluminum cans, glass, plastic bags, paper and plastic (especially bottles). Producing these products consumes huge amounts of resources.

How can this be, I rage internally?
